LANGUAGES

The study of a language requires paying close attention to the forms, structures, functions and concepts related to how the language works. Knowledge of vocabulary and grammar (the what of language) is reinforced and expanded by understanding the why and how of language: the receiver, the context, the purpose and the meaning.

The students understand and produce a wide variety of oral and written texts for recipients, contexts and purposes related to academic and personal interests, thereby expanding their communication skills. To develop their receptive skills, Language B students must study authentic texts that explore the culture or cultures of the target language.
